News: the Council has commenced drainage works on the fields !!!
The works have finished for the moment.
Entry track to the lower field has been gravelled over drainage pipe crossings.
Swale drains have been widened and the piles of topsoil moved to the western field and spread onto a new level filled area.
The entry onto the bottom field has not yet been backfilled as a pipe needs to be installed.
The range has been reset with direction of shooting now facing east again, as per usual and the parking area near the bottom field may be used again.

More portable shade pergola's are now available for summer.
If you want to use these, please arrange to put them up before shooting start time and return to storage after shooting has finished.

A new swale drain has been cut along the bottom of the top field.
A new swale drain has been cut from the container along the bottom of the embankment and then into a wide shallow ditch to the West end of the field.
The ditch is then cut into a narrow trench crossing at the Western entry to the field and finally drains into the gully to the creek.
A cut has been made into the embankment to track where the seepage water is coming from. The seepage water was still flowing out last Saturday.
This cut has now been filled with rocks.

The embankment around the field has been cleared of scrub and a lot of the grass has been collected off the field.
The Western field has also been cleared around the pipe outlet and road-side catchment grate.
Stand-by for further up-dates as work continues.
See photo's of last weeks works - click on this link.

Parking area has been moved to either the South side of the clubhouse.
This will be a temporary arrangement until the field can be mowed properly again.
To help get the mowing done sooner, please bring along a rake to help clean up the grass off the field between shooting ends.
Every little bit helps, so the sooner it's cleaned up, the better the field will be for your shooting.

Sunday and Wednesday practise has re-commenced as from 12th June 2011.
Hours available for practise will be from 1.30pm to 5.00pm.
Director of Shooting (DOS) will be Clive Roulston.
To arrange days and times for practise, please contact Clive - check your club e-mail notices for contact details.

Wildlife
Club Members are reminded that ALL native animals are protected and that they should ensure that their safety comes first, so please check the fields are clear behind the targets before shooting.
Members should NOT approach the kangaroos alone, as they are not tame and the large male kangaroos can be aggressive in protecting their territory. DO NOT chase the kangaroos off the field towards the road, as they can easily jump the fence into the path of traffic. If you need to move them on, please ask for help.

The park still needs to be kept tidy, so if you come across any rubbish, please do the right thing and put it in the rubbish bin.
( If you take drink cans out onto the shooting range, please don't leave them behind.)
The rubbish bins are located inside the Clubhouse and we also have a recycle bin for cans.
Rubbish bags are also available to help collect any rubbish on the fields.

The Safety Signs need to be placed out on the fields, the Club Sign needs to be placed out by the park entry, the warning flag needs to be erected beside the park entry gate, the warning flags need to be placed on the target butts, the Clubhouse needs to opened up and the windows opened, the attendance book needs to be signed and the ground fees paid, the Club's archery equipment needs to be placed out ready for visitors and beginner courses and the drink eskies need to be placed in the Clubhouse.
When it comes to the end of the Club Day, all these things need to be placed away again.

All these have to happen every Club Day, so all Club Members are encouraged to help out, whenever possible, to make the running of the Club more enjoyable for all members and to make visitors feel welcome.
